Fine Arts Celebrated!

The past two weeks have been a busy time for the fine arts at KHS.  Last week was "Celebrate the Arts" featuring the Drama club's "The Girl with the Golden Locks," Foods 20/30's decadent desserts at intermission, CTS and Art courses' visual displays of projects, and intermission music by the Sr. Band students.  The students worked very hard to prepare for this event and as a result it was highly entertaining.

Tuesday night was the Spring Concert for the music students of KHS.  Highlights included Star Wars, Rolling in the Deep, Eye of the Tiger (with guest performer Mrs. Cey), Radioactive, Best Day of My Life, and of course the Gr. 7 right of passage: Power Rock!  The grande finale had all 123 music students on stage performing Happy by Pharrell.  It was a smashing success!

Here is a taste of the finale, enjoy!

DRAMA AT KITSCOTY HIGH SCHOOL

Kitscoty High School Christmas Drama Another Success
Sharlie Sjoquist, entertaining us with her amazing talent

Our 2014 Christmas play has come and gone in the most successful way! The students performed The One and Only Santa Claus three times: for the Elementary Division II students, for the public, and for our school and seniors after Christmas dinner.  Ms Paull, the director, is SO VERY PROUD of how her students rose up to the challenge, despite our battle against the flu! Here are just a few of the many pictures.

Get MAD (music/art/drama) at KHS

Kitscoty High School hosted the annual Get MAD (Music/Art/Drama) BTPS Fine Arts Showcase.

It was a chance to show off some of the awesome talent found in Buffalo Trail.  The music portion of the night consisted of a combined Jr Honour Band from KHS, WHS, Irma, and Provost performing Jus’ Plain Blues, Shenandoah, Cossack Dance, and Encore!; a performance of Katie Perry’s ROAR by the KES choir; and a combined Sr Honour Band performing Gimme Some Lovin’, The Forge of Vulcan, Hey Soul Sister, and The Final Countdown.

The walls were covered with phenomenal artwork from Wainwright, Marwayne, and JR Robson High Schools; and drama was represented by some improv from Dr. Folkins Community School, a monologue by Savannah Davidsen from KHS, and a short comedy skit from Irma School.  It was a night of many smiles and much laughter.  Next year will be even better!
